How to Add Air to Nightcrawlers
- 1). Select nightcrawlers which are plump and very active.
- 2). Holding the crawler near the point of injection, insert the tip of the needle at a slight angle into either the center or tail of the worm.
- 3). Squeeze or inject the air into the worm slowly but deliberately, until a noticeable bulge appears. Trial and error will determine the exact amount to use to prevent "blowouts" and to achieve the desired amount of buoyancy.
- 4). Withdraw the injector quickly, hook the nightcrawler once through the head and cast it out, letting it sink to the bottom.
