Cut Up T-Shirt Crafts
- Make an eyeball shirt by cutting 3 inch by 5 inch patches out of a white T-shirt. Cut the patches into eyeball shapes and paint an eyeball onto each patch using acrylic paint. Sew the eyeballs on the inside of a colored shirt. Trim the colored shirt to reveal the eyeballs. Another idea is to cut a skeleton rib pattern out of a black T-shirt. Wear the black shirt over a white shirt to make the skeleton ribs stand out.
- Lay a shirt flat on a table and cut a scoop about 10 inches from the bottom of the back of the shirt. Poke holes going down both sides of the scoop. Use fabric strips, ribbon or string to lace the shirt. Tie the laces off creating a bow for added decoration. This design will create an open back with a criss-cross lace design. Another idea is to cut the scoop from the top of the shirt or cut a large rectangle from the back of the shirt. Cutting a large rectangle will leave most of the back open for the lace strings. Alternatively, sew a large piece of lace fabric on the back of the shirt instead of using the string, ribbon or fabric strips.
- Create a fitted shirt by cutting up the seams on both sides of the shirt about halfway. Cut strips horizontally from the sides and tie the strips back together. Tie the strips tight to create a tight fitted shirt. You can also tie the strips loose if you do not want the shirt too tight. Another idea is to cut a line straight up the back of the shirt. Cut strips horizontally from the line and tie the strips together. For added decoration, do this to a solid-colored shirt and decorate it using glitter pens.
- Cut horizontal lines on the front or back of a shirt. Do this on the bottom half of the shirt. After you cut lines, use your fingers to pull on the cuts. For example, place your fingers at the ends of one line and pull. This will cause the shirt to curl up giving it definition and design. Layer the shirt on top of other shirt or go with a sexy look to reveal your skin.
