Tax Debt Relief Fraud on the Rise

4
These days more than ever, everyone wants relief from tax debts and other back taxes related issues.
Today the vulnerability of everyone to believe on ads that says they can provide tax debt relief is so possible.
So far, there are plenty of scams that can be found over the internet.
They also advertised to television broadcast as well as through public radio broadcasts.
This is something that everyone should take extra precautions.
In the first place, only IRS can provide tax due relief.
They either grant taxpayer or not.
There are no other agencies or companies allowed to this job for them.
So in other words, those ads were a product of unscrupulous people whose intent is to scam taxpayers.
What's with the asking fee for a relief on tax debts, and it even promises fast relief? It's like some ads for a cough syrup or anti-itch drugs, that relief is instant.
This is obviously a scam, for there is no such thing as instant relief granted on tax dues.
The real tax due relief program will have to undergo a stringent process.
In fact, legal proceedings are normally involved in resolving tax debt issues.
Which means that taxpayer hires a tax lawyer to help him in the negotiations.
And not pay anyone such tax debts disappear like magic.
However, if the ads will also tell that a tax lawyer will make tax debt disappear.
There's a need for taxpayer to double check the validity of this claim.
Tax lawyers should be known to be hired as legal counsel on tax issues.
If a supposedly tax lawyer and the law school he/she came from is, likewise, unknown, this is a scam.
As a taxpayer one thing you should remember is that when you're desperate scammers can smell it.
And they would run towards you like a wolf to its prey.
They can be persuasive and so business-like about it.
If you don't step back to assess their claim, you'll be victimized.
Don't forget that tax due reliefs will only be processed by IRS, they either grant or not.
Legal proceedings are usually involved, because non payment of tax debts is considered a crime.
As such, a known tax lawyer will stand with you as counsel, for a fee.
However, take note that hire only a tax lawyer with the reputation to resolve tax debt cases successfully.
These and only these are the ones to remember so that a taxpayer will not be a victim of scams.
And then of course there's no such thing as instant tax due relief.
