Lawn Power Tools

15
Lawn power tools make the task of doing yard work quick and easy.
However, there are many different types to choose from, so before you start shopping you need to determine what type of jobs you will be doing so you know which tools to buy.
The tools listed here are a good starting point.
Some tools will even do more than one job which will save you storage space.
To keep the grass under control the most common tools are the push mower and the riding mower to cut the grass.
A trimmer is used to trim the grass and weeds around fences or posts.
Edgers will create a nice crisp edge for areas along a sidewalk, driveway, porch or plant bed.
You can round up those pesky leaves with a leaf blower.
When it comes to shrubs, bushes and trees there are plenty of different tools.
One is the hedge trimmer that will keep your bushes and shrubs from growing out of control and will give an even edge.
Another tool is the power pruner that has an extra long extension so you can reach those high trees and shrubs without the need for a ladder.
If you have any areas of extra rough grass, dense undergrowth or thickets, then a brush cutter will come in handy to make a path or clear an area.
For heavy duty jobs like cutting firewood, pruning limbs or cutting down an entire tree, you will need a chain saw.
A chipper or a shredder will then turn those twigs, branches and debris into a mulch.
To start and maintain a flower bed or a garden, a tiller or cultivator will loosen and aerate the soil.
Something else to consider is the method by which the lawn power tools will operate.
You can choose from cordless, electric and gas powered.
The cordless tool requires the use of a battery and is very convenient because you can take it anywhere, but you have to keep the battery fully charged and have a spare ready.
Electric tools are restricted by their cord length and they must be in proximity to a power source, but they will provide a continuous source of power.
Gas powered tools are portable, but heavy, and you have to go buy the gas.
