How to Install Line to a Weed Eater
- 1). Remove the cover from the trimmer head. In most cases, there is a large plastic bolt on the bottom of the weed eater head that you turn clockwise to remove. In some cases, the cover threads onto the cutter or clips onto the cutter.
- 2). Pull the string spool out of the cutter head.
- 3). Cut two pieces of string approximately 5 feet in length. If your trimmer has one string, simply cut one length of string. Use a pair of wire cutters for this.
- 4). Locate the hole inside the spool and place the tip of the string into the hole. Coil the string around the spool in the direction denoted on the top of the spool. You will notice an arrow showing the direction. If the trimmer has two strings, keep the first string winding on one side of the spool flange so you don't cover up the second hole.
- 5). String the second string in the same manner as you did the first. If your trimmer only has one string, skip this step.
- 6). Place the spool back into the cutter head and thread the string or strings through the holes in the side of the cutter head cover. Secure the cover to the cutter head.
