How to Blow Snow With a Toro Snowblower
- 1). Start the engine. Set the spark plug wire back onto the spark plug. Adjust the throttle to "Fast." Open the fuel shutoff valve by turning it counterclockwise. Turn the choke on. Push the primer button slowly three times to prime the engine, holding it down for a minimum of two seconds per push. Insert the key in the ignition and turn it to complete the ignition process. Push the primer button again if the ignition doesn't start the first time.
- 2). Set the snowblower to go in one of the six forward or two reverse speeds. Squeeze the traction lever located on the left side of the handlebar to engage the traction control for the Toro snowblower. To change speeds, release the traction lever.
- 3). Engage either the right or left wheel clutch to turn the snowblower. To make a right turn, squeeze the right wheel clutch lever to the handlebar. Release the lever when you complete the turn. Use the same process to make a left turn. Once you release the wheel clutch lever, you can once again blow snow in a straight path.
- 4). Start the snow blower auger by pulling down the lever on the right handlebar. The traction lever on the left handlebar locks the auger control in place. Release the traction lever to turn off the auger.
- 5). Adjust the snow chute to throw snow where you want it. Throw the snow as far away from the edge of the drive or sidewalk as possible.
