Michael Breus, PhD Sleep Specialist: What is a "caf-nap"?There's another type of nap, what I call the caf-nap. This is where I have people take a lukewarm cup of coffee, drink it, and then close their eyes for 20 to 25 minutes. This allows them to get a little bit of stage 1, stage 2 sleep, and then the caffeine starts to kick in right when they wake up,and so they've gotten a little bit of sleep and now the caffeine can help get them through the rest of the day.
