How to Install an SPT Stand Air Conditioner
- 1). Open the designated installation window and measure the width of the window. Cut the supplied foam strip with the hole in it to fit the width of the window. If the window is wider than the foam strip with the hole in it, cut pieces from the second foam strip to fill the openings.
- 2). Attach the supplied round hose connector to the end of the exhaust hose. Insert the end of the supplied exhaust hose and the hose connector into the hole in the foam strip. Confirm the connection is secure.
- 3). Insert the foam strip with the connected exhaust hose into the window and close the window on top of the foam.
- 4). Place "L" brackets at the top of the open window. Confirm each bracket sits snugly in the corner where the top of the open window meets the window frame. Drill a starter hole through the top hole of each bracket into the window frame. Screw a screw through each bracket into the window frame. Try to open the window to confirm it's secure and doesn't move.
- 5). Move the SPT unit close to the window to desired location. Extend the hose just far enough so it can reach the unit. The hose needs to be as straight as possible for smooth air exhaustion.
- 6). Place the hose adapter over the other end of the exhaust hose and screw the hose into the back of the SPT into the exhaust air outlet. Confirm the connection is secure.
- 7). Grab the filter frame from the top back side of the SPT unit and pull it from its slot. Insert the supplied carbon filter into the filter frame, then slide the frame back into the unit.
- 8). Plug the SPT power cord into a grounded wall outlet.
