How to Replace a B&D Grinding Wheel
- 1). Turn the "On/Off" switch to the off position and unplug the grinder from the electrical outlet.
- 2). Press in and hold the spindle lock button on the top front portion of the grinder. Turn the spindle by hand until it locks in position. Place an adjustable wrench or a spanner on the nut under the bottom of the existing grinding wheel and turn it counterclockwise to loosen. Pull the nut straight off. Release the spindle lock button.
- 3). Turn the grinder over so the wheel faces upward. Pull the flange straight up and off the grinder. Pull the grinding wheel straight up and off.
- 4). Align a new grinding wheel on the tool with the opening centered it on the inner flange. Replace the outer flange on the grinding wheel. Face the raised portion of the outer flange down for thick grinding wheels or up for thin grinding wheels.
- 5). Place the nut on the spindle and tighten it by hand. Press and hold the spindle lock button and turn the spindle by hand until it locks. Tighten the nut with an adjustable wrench or a spanner.
