Recovery Disk Won't Work on My Vaio PCGFX215
- 1). Close any files open on your VAIO's screen and shut down any open programs, such as firewall or anti-virus software. Access the "Start" menu and choose "All Programs."
- 2). Select the "VAIO Recovery Center" folder and click the "VAIO Recovery Center" icon. Choose the "Restore Complete System" link on the left side of the window, under the "Choose a Program" heading.
- 3). Choose the "Start" option under the "Restore System" heading. Click the "Skip" radio box and choose "Next."
- 4). Click the radio button labeled "Yes" and select "Next." Click "Yes" and choose "Next" again. Select the "I Understand" check box when a warning message appears to let you know all data will be lost.
- 5). Choose "Start" and click "Finish" to format the hard drive and begin the recovery process. Wait for the VAIO to restart and use the prompts that appear to choose your new Windows username and password.
