How to Adjust a Kenmore Gas Range Oven
- 1). Remove the oven knob from its rod by pulling it straight off.
- 2). Loosen the two screws on the oven knob.
- 3). Hold the knob handle and rotate the knob skirt to adjust the offset temperature. Move the upper screw towards "HOTTER" to increase the offset temperature of the oven or towards "COOLER" to lower the offset temperature of the oven. Listen for clicks as you turn -- each click alters the temperature by 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 4). Tighten the screws with a screwdriver and replace the knob on the oven.
- 1). Press the "Bake" button.
- 2). Press and hold the "Up" arrow icon until the temperature display reads 550 degrees Fahrenheit. Hold the "Bake" button within 2 seconds of hitting 550 degrees.
- 3). Release "Bake" when a two-digit number appears on the display.
- 4). Use the "Up" and "Down" arrow icons to adjust the offset temperature of the oven up to 35 degrees Fahrenheit hotter or cooler. Press the "Up" button once to raise the offset temperature by 5 degrees Fahrenheit, while each "Down" button press lowers the offset temperature by 5 degrees. Continue until you reach the desired offset temperature.
- 5). Press "Stop/Clear" to lock in the oven offset temperature adjustment and return to the time display.
