How to Clean a Bunn Drip Coffeemaker
- 1). Unplug the Bunn drip coffeemaker while performing cleaning maintenance.
- 2). Remove the Brewthrough valve; lift the valve at the edge and pull up. The valve is located within the lid to the carafe. The valve slowly releases the freshly brewed coffee into the carafe. Wash the valve with soapy water to remove any dirt or debris.
- 3). Remove the lid from the coffeemaker carafe by rotating the lid counterclockwise and lifting. Wash the lid with warm, soapy water. Use the brush included with the coffeemaker to clean the lid and carafe properly and remove all residue. Rinse completely.
- 4). Insert a coffee filter into the brew funnel. Pour 2 tsp. of dish washing detergent into the filter. Place the brew funnel into the brewer. Open the hinged lid on the top of the coffeemaker. Pour one full carafe of water into the brewer. Keep the lid open.
- 5). Place the open carafe under the brewer; do not install the carafe lid yet. Close the lid of the coffee maker. Allow the cycle to complete brewing. Once the cycle is complete, allow the carafe to soak with the solution in it for 15 minutes.
- 6). Scrub the carafe inside and out using a long-handled brush. Solution will be extremely hot so use extreme caution to avoid getting burnt.
- 7). Discard the coffee filter. Rinse the carafe and funnel well. The coffee maker is now clean and ready for use.
