How Does a Room Partition Work?
- Room partitions come in every color you could imagine. They also come in glass, metal, plastic and wood. Some partitions are plain and some are covered in fabric. Some partitions even act as a bulletin board. Room partitions come in two basic types: moveable and unmoveable. The moveable partitions are designed to quickly be set up or removed. They usually have wheels. The unmoveable partitions can be moved, but only with a lot of effort. These partitions are heavy and generally meant to stay put.
- There are many uses for room partitions. They can be used in offices to create cubicles, which give employees a little bit of privacy as they work. They can divide classrooms to make one large room into two smaller rooms. These partitions can also be used as bulletin boards to display student pictures or lesson plans. Parents may use room partitions at home to create one section of the house dedicated as a child's designated play area.
- Before you consider getting a room partition, you should measure your area. Get out a measuring tape and a notepad. Measure your space from top to bottom to find the height. Record this number. Then measure the length of the space and write it in your notebook. Finally, determine how wide the divider can be. Most likely, width will not be a problem, but it is a good idea to have all of your measurements written down in your notebook for ordering.
- You can order just about any type and style of room partition that you want from Ergo in Demand (see Resources section below). You need to choose the type and then click on it for possible dimensions.
