Eliminates Snails and Slugs

• One of the key ingredients in beer is fermented yeast. Pests such as snugs and snails are actually attracted to the substance, despite the fact that it can kill them. Pour a small bowl of flat beer and place it 1 or 2 from the infested area. After a day or two, you will find that the insects have drowned themselves in the beer. Combine and mix one pound of sugar, one bottle of stale beer, three ripe bananas and one cup of fruit juice. Next, spread the mixture on trees, rocks or flowers in the yard. Add to Compost

• Composting is a method for creating soil out of decomposed, organic materials. This may include leftover food, coffee grounds and even some paper products. Because of the yeast and nitrogen in beer, adding stale beer to a compost pile will accelerate the decomposition process. This means that materials will break down quicker, turning into rich soil faster. Moreover, the natural nitrogen in beer helps plants to grow. Just be careful how much beer you add. It can create a pungent smell in your yard if you use too much.
  
  

Banish Brown Spots

• Use stale beer to help take care of pesky, brown spots on your lush, green lawn. Mix stale beer with water and soup in a spray bottle and apply to the brown area approximately three to four days a week. Because beer contains nitrogen naturally, it is an alternative to adding the chemical ammonia to your yard. Once the grass fills in, you can apply the beer, soap and water mixture every two to three weeks to help maintain the health of your lawn.
