How to Care for Crock-Pots
- 1). Wash the crock and lid of your Crock-Pot or slow cooker in hot, soapy water immediately after removing it from the box. Rinse thoroughly to remove any packing dust or debris.
- 2). Turn off and unplug the Crock-Pot after the food is cooked. Transfer any remaining food to other containers.
- 3). Wash the crockery liner with a sponge in hot soapy water as soon as it is cool enough to touch. Remove difficult spots inside the crock with a plastic or nylon kitchen scrubber. Wash the lid of the Crock-Pot in the same manner.
- 4). Wipe down the outer heating container with a damp, soapy sponge. Rinse out the sponge, and wipe the container a second time to remove the soap.
