How to Clean Grates on Char-Broil Commercial Series Grill
- 1). Ignite the grill burners and adjust the flame controls to the highest setting.
- 2). Close the Char-Broil grill with the grates in place and let the burners run for 10 minutes.
- 3). Shut off the grill and immediately scrub the grates with a brass or stainless steel brush.
- 4). Allow the grates to cool, then remove from the grill and place in a wash tub or old plastic storage box.
- 5). Coat the grates with liquid dish washing detergent that will dissolve and cut through built-up grease on the grates.
- 6). Pour undiluted ammonia into the wash pan until the grill grates are submerged.
- 7). Soak the grates for at least an hour.
- 8). Scrub the grates a second time with the brass or stainless steel brush, then rinse with water and air dry.
- 9). Coat each grate with a quality olive oil, wipe off the excess with paper towels and place them back on the Char-Broil Commercial Series Grill.
