Guide Review - The Source by Wolfgang Puck - Restaurant Review - Washington, DC
At the Source, the lounge menu includes a range of smaller plates, such as Prime beef sliders with smoked onion marmalade and white cheddar, to Wolfgang Puck’s signature pizzas from the wood-burning oven including the smoked salmon pizza with dill cream and caviar. The fine dining menu features modern interpretations of Asian dishes such as roasted suckling pig with a plum-fig chutney; steamed black bass “Hong Kong” style with baby bok choy; and lacquered Chinese duckling with wild huckleberries and glass noodles.
There is an extensive wine list and a variety of creative, yet expensive cocktails. Recommended dishes include the Spicy Tuna Tartare, Warm Maine Lobster-Daikon Roll with “Sweet & Sour” Dressing and the Kobe Short Ribs, Slow Cooked, with Indian Spices.
The restaurant design is trendy and sleek with neutral colors, dark wood tables, and romantic candle lighting. Floor-to-ceiling windows line the restaurant and a two-story, temperature-controlled glass wine wall links the main floor with the upstairs displaying more than 2000 bottles of the restaurant’s impressive collection. The large upstairs dining room is divided into sections that providing an intimate setting.
The Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group operates award winning restaurants in popular destinations across the country including Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, Maui, San Francisco, Atlantic City, Detroit and more.
