Hoover Dam is operated by the United States Department of the Interior. Tours are not recommended for anyone who is claustrophobic or who has a pacemaker or defibrillator. Since everything you bring in will be scanned, large backpacks are not allowed. You are allowed to bring bottled water only on the tours. See the dam by land, sea, water or all three, and don't forget to bring your camera. - The Hoover Dam Tour Company conducts bus, helicopter, plane, van or sport utility vehicle tours of the Hoover Dam. The company will pick you up and return you to your hotel. The Express Bus Tour lasts two hours and includes the dam as well as stop-offs at the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and the Botanical Gardens. The Deluxe Motor Tour includes two hours at the dam with a walk to the Arizona side. Other bus tours are the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead tour, Hoover Dam Air and Ground tour, Hoover Dam Adventure tour and the That Dam Mine tour. Other tours offered by the Hoover Dam Tour Company include helicopter tours that visit the Hoover Dam along with the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead tour that includes a landing on the Grand Canyon floor.

You are picked up in the morning and returned to the hotel by lunchtime. The Lake Mead Cruise & Dam Combo is a full-day tour. The bus takes you to Lake Mead where you board the Desert Princess for a cruise around the lake. After lunch on-board the ship, you take the dam tour. On the way back to your hotel, the bus stops at the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory.
