Fall in Indiana means lots of festivals and while the weather turns cooler, the festival scene heats up. This month there are many great street festivals in the city and surrounding communities. These festivals draw in large crowds and are some of the most popular of the year!


Pumpkin Harvest Festival


The entire month of October is the Pumpkin Harvest Festival at Stony Creek Farms in Noblesville. Take a trip to the farm for a haunted house, farm animals, the pumpkin train, straw maze, zipline, good food, wagon rides, a trip to the pumpkin patch, pony rides, and more.

Riley Festival


The Riley festival is one of the state's largest festivals. It spans 10 city blocks and includes hundreds of booths. Expect live entertainment, good food, arts and crafts, parade, and more.

Fishers Renaissance Faire


The Fishers Renaissance Faire is a two-day festival with full contact jousting, swordplay, costumed characters, period dancing and music, good food, vendors, kids games, and lots more. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12. Save $2 off adult admission and $1 off child admission when your purchase advance tickets online through September 25.

Parke County Covered Bridge Festival


The Covered Bridge Festival is Indiana's largest festival, starting on the second Friday in October. The festival is county-wide and attracts visitors from across the country. Each community in the county hosts flea markets, yard sales, and crafts during the festival. The event is headquartered on the Rockville courthouse lawn, with vendors surrounding the courthouse and adjoining streets. Shopping is open there from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. In addition to shopping, there is live entertainment throughout the day.

5th Annual Original and Fabulous Germanfest at the Athenaeum


Enjoy German music, German dancing, German food, German beer, raffle, a yodeling contest, wiener dog races, 5K Lederhosen Run/Walk, competitive beer games, and a Bavarian stone lifting contest. The large children's area will include activities such as a fishing pond,pea pond, can toss game, face painting, Berlin wall of paintings, mice race, giant buzzer, bounce house and arts and craft. The children's area is just $2 per child for the entire day. Adult tickets are $10 at the gate. Advance Germanfest tickets can be purchased online for $8 for adult. Kids 12 and under are free.

Chocolatefest


Finally! A festival for chocolate lovers! Immerse yourself in all things chocolate at this sweet event! 22nd Annual Heartland Film Festival


The Heartland Film Festival is one of Indy's top annual events and honors independent filmmakers whose films celebrate the human journey. During the 10-day event, 129 films will be shown throughout Indianapolis at various theaters. Single film tickets are $9 in advance (when purchased on the website) or $11 at the theater. Balloons Over Killbuck


There's just something magical about hot air balloons and this festival celebrates the majesty and art of flying hot air balloons.
