How to Clean Soap Scum Off the Bathtub
- 1). Combing 1 part household vinegar with 1 part water and put the liquid in a plastic spray bottle. After you have finished using the shower or bathtub for the day, saturate the walls, floor and tile with the vinegar spray that you created.
- 2). Attack the remaining soap scum with household baking soda. Take a textured sponge or abrasive cloth, sprinkle baking soda on it and scrub the bathtub walls. Baking soda acts as a mild abrasive cleaner that won't scratch or damage any surfaces.
- 3). Rinse the tub carefully after each use. The buildup of soap scum can attract mold, mildew and bacteria that can be difficult to remove from shower walls and tile. If you notice mold or mildew, spray with a solution of ¼ cup liquid chlorine bleach and 1 gallon of water. Scrub and rinse.
