How to Clean a Really Dirty Shower
- 1). Cover all of the surfaces of the shower with undiluted white vinegar. If you can stop up the drain, you may simply want to pour enough vinegar into the bottom of the shower to cover it. Spray all of the other surfaces liberally with the vinegar. Let the shower soak in the vinegar for one hour.
- 2). Wet a cleaning sponge with vinegar. Sprinkle the sponge with baking soda as a gentle abrasive. Scrub the shower with the sponge, applying more vinegar and baking soda as needed. Rinse all of the shower's surfaces with warm water.
- 3). Remove the shower head if possible and soak it in vinegar for one hour. Brush the shower head with a toothbrush dipped in vinegar and baking soda. Rinse the shower head before reattaching it.
- 4). Remove the shower curtain if applicable and wash it in the washing machine. Add 1 cup of bleach to the wash. Wash fabric shower curtain according to the directions on the curtain's tag.
