- Several Wyoming communities are key access points to Yellowstone. Cody, Wyoming has access to the east entrance of Yellowstone, and both Jackson Hole and Moran, Wyoming have access to the south entrance of Yellowstone.
- Lodging in the park is handled by Xanterra Parks and Resorts. Within the park, there are nine different Yellowstone lodging properties to choose from. Most of the lodges close in September or October and reopen in April or May, but the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and the Old Faithful Snow Lodge and Cabins are open from December until March. Xanterra does accept reservations and they are recommended a month or two in advance during the busy summer months.
- Different types of lodging is available in and around the park. Small rustic cabins and large log lodges, as well as hotels and motels are available. The Xanterra lodges have western-style rooms, commonly with two double beds. The cabins are part of a four or six unit complex that include private full bathrooms and usually two queen beds.
