How to Clean Rubber Floor Mats Without Making Them Slick
- 1). Place the rubber mat on a hard outdoor surface, such as concrete or asphalt. Bare ground may turn to mud when spraying the mat.
- 2). Sweep dirt and debris off the rubber mat with a broom.
- 3). Spray the rubber mat with a garden hose. Cover a portion of the hose end with your thumb to produce a pressurized stream to loosen lodged particles from the mat.
- 4). Combine one L of warm water and one tsp. of mild dishwashing detergent in a bucket.
- 5). Dampen a clean sponge with the detergent solution and wring it out. Wipe down the rubber mat to remove any remaining debris.
- 6). Rinse the mat with a garden hose, using the same pressurized stream to remove all detergent residue. Flip the mat over to spray-clean the bottom.
- 7). Wipe the entire mat dry with a clean cloth and place it in a warm dry area out of direct sunlight to complete drying.
