Cleaning Unglazed Porcelain Floor Tile
- 1). Sweep or vacuum the tiles to remove dirt, dust, and debris.
- 2). Make a solution of 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 2 gallons of hot water in a bucket. Unglazed porcelain tiles tend to absorb the color of the cleaning solution, so clear cleaning solutions are necessary.
- 3). Dip a sponge mop into the vinegar cleaning solution. Begin mopping the tiles with the solution.
- 4). Mop small sections of the floor at a time. Allow the cleaning solution to remain on each small section of the floor for 10 minutes before mopping the next section.
- 5). Fill another bucket with clean water. Mop the tiles with the clean water to rinse away the vinegar solution.
- 6). Allow the porcelain floor tiles to air-dry. Inspect the tiles for remaining dirt and stains. Continue mopping with the vinegar cleaning solution if necessary.
