How to Decorate an Amethyst Couch
- 1). Choose the accent colors for your couch accessories. Select one or two that will be the primary colors. Choosing more than two can quickly overwhelm the couch. Pick colors that are significantly lighter or darker than the amethyst so they'll show up against the couch. Examples of colors that work well with amethyst include silver, black, red and brown.
- 2). Experiment with patterns in the accessories to add visual interest, especially if your amethyst couch is solid.
- 3). Place a blanket on the amethyst couch in the color or colors of choice. Fold the blanket neatly in half and cover the center, top section of the couch or create a small rectangle and lay it on the corner of the couch at an angle.
- 4). Arrange accent pillows on the amethyst couch. Select pillows with a soft texture for comfort if you spend long periods of time on the couch. Place identical pillows on either end of the couch and a different pillow in the center. Add smaller pillows of a different color in front of the main ones.
- 5). Create a decorative drape with fabric. Measure the length of the couch and cut a piece of fabric at least 3 feet longer. Roll it up into a line and drape it in a scalloped pattern over the back of the couch.
