The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) offers several state parks and recreation areas with cabins. Cabins are available in a range of sizes, and the parks vary greatly in activities, scenery, flora, fauna and location. Guests at any of TPWD's cabins have ample opportunities for memorable vacations, and the natural settings of the parks allow for convenient sabbaticals. - Lake Brownwood offers 16 cabins, nine of which sleep two people and seven which sleep four. Cabins include refrigerators, stoves, restrooms with showers, double beds and winter-use fireplaces. Two of the two-person cabins have several steps that must be climbed to gain access. The park is situated on Lake Brownwood and boasts rustic beauty and ample wildlife. Whitetail deer, raccoons and armadillos are frequently seen, and several species of wildflowers and other plants abound. Fishing, hiking and water sports are popular activities.
