•Brandon Weeden
The Browns starting quarterback, beginning the 2012 season, Oklahoma native Brandon Weeden first tried Major League Baseball, playing four years for NY Yankees minor league teams before setting aside his pitcher's mitt to attend Oklahoma State University. At Oklahoma, Weeden led the Cowboys to an 11-1 season and a #3 BCS ranking his senior year. Weeden was drafted in the first round by the Browns in the 2012 NFL Draft, making him at 28 years old one of the oldest players ever drafted in the first round.More »•Brian Hoyer
A Lakewood native and graduate of St. Ignatius High School, Hoyer came to the Cleveland Browns in 2013. He signed a two-year deal and was named the starting quarterback in mid-September. In his first three games, he completed 59% of his passes and helped the Browns to lead their division. He suffered a season-ending knee injury in the game against Buffalo on October 4, 2013.
Before playing for the Browns, Hoyer, a graduate of Michigan State University, played for New England, Arizona and Pittsburgh.
•Jason Campbell
A native of Laurel, Mississippi, Jason Campbell came to the Cleveland Browns in 2013 from the Chicago Bears on a two-year contract. Campbell, who played at Auburn in college, was drafted in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. He also played for the Oakland Raiders.
Campbell got his start in Cleveland on October 23, 2013 after both Brian Hoyer and Brandon Weeden were injured.
•Johnny Manziel
Johnny Manziel was drafted by the Browns in the 1st round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The Texas A&M star, dubbed "Johnny Football," earned numerous awards during his college career, including the Heisman Trophy and the "Associated Press" Player of the Year Award.
His first season in the NFL was plagued with incidents. In August, he was fined $12,000 for giving an in appropriate hand gesture to the opposing team. That move also cost him his starting position.
He suffered a hamstring injury late in the season and was replaced again by Hoyer.
Manziel announced in early February, 2015 that he was entering an undisclosed rehab facility.
•Conner Shaw
A native of Georgia, Conner Shaw played college football at the University of South Carolina, where he started as quarterback during the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons. Shaw went undrafted in the 2014 NFL draft. He was later signed by the Cleveland Browns and assigned to the practice squad.
After both Hoyer and Manziel were injured late in the 2014 season, Shaw was called up and started against the Ravens in the final game of the season.
