How to Kill Crabgrass Without Chemicals

    • 1). Dig up the crabgrass by its roots by pushing your shovel into the ground about 6 inches and scooping the crabgrass up by the roots with the shovel. You may need to shake some of the soil out of the roots of the crabgrass because the soil will come up in clumps. This is the only way to kill the crabgrass without harmful chemicals.

    • 2). Toss the dug-up crabgrass into your wheelbarrow and dump all of it into a sealed trash can.

    • 3). Rake the area you removed the crabgrass from until it is smoothed out and flattened down.

    • 4). Toss some grass seed over the area where your crabgrass was growing so you can have the desired variety of grass growing there instead.
