How to Remove Fungus From Vinyl Siding
- 1). Cover all vegetation with the sheet plastic to protect the plants from the cleaning solution.
- 2). Rinse the vinyl siding down with clean water from the garden hose. Scrub the siding with the soft brush attached to a long handle. The first rinse scrub loosens hard material stuck to the siding and wets the area.
- 3). Mix in 1 gallon of water, 2/3 cup TSP and 1/3 cup laundry detergent. Add 1 quart of household bleach to the mixture.
- 4). Dip the brush into the cleaning solution. Begin scrubbing the vinyl siding at the bottom of the area. Work your way across the bottom and up.
- 5). Rinse the cleaned area often before the cleaning solution has a chance to dry on the siding. Keep the area wet until all of the siding is clean. It may take several scrubbings with fresh cleaning solution to remove stubborn mold stains created by artillery fungus.
