Situated in the Truckee Meadows of Northern Nevada, Sparks is a town home to approximately 90,000 residents. The city enjoys sunshine 80 percent of the year, while still experiencing all four seasons. Plenty of indoor and outdoor activities are found throughout this fast-growing city to keep visitors and residents entertained. - With a picturesque 77-acre lake surrounded by trees, walking paths, beaches and a backdrop of mountains, Sparks Marina Park is an ideal destination for those who want to spend a day outdoors. Play a game of volleyball, take a two-mile walk along the paved trails, go for a swim or simply enjoy a lazy afternoon out on the boat. Dog owners will appreciate the dog park and the nearby Scraps Dog Bakery that sells dog treats. A concession stand is open for business during the summer months, and a handful of restaurants are located by the park, including the Jib Coffee House & Wine Bar and Anchor's Bar &Grill. The park also hosts events throuhgout the year, including a kids triathlon and the Top O' the Mornin' Fun Run.

This museum's exhibits are arranged chronologically, containing artifacts from the city of Sparks as well as items from the Truckee Meadows area. Exhibits include a replica town (with a barber shop, the inside of a typical house, a general store and more) showing what Sparks was like in its early days, items from an early casino and a mining and ranching display. Stop by the gift shop to take home a souvenir.

The venue also features mini-golf, go karts, billiards and bowling. The outdoor water park is open May through September, while the other attractions are open year-round. Pirate Cove, the venue's mini-golf course, is a nine-hole course lit by black lights. Rates vary by attraction, and season passes are available for the water park. Four birthday packages are available and can be customized to include specific park attractions.
