How to Disassemble a Roomba
- 1). Press the large button on the top of your Roomba to release the dust pan. Slide the dust pan out of the body of the Roomba and set it aside.
- 2). Lay the Roomba face down with the front sensor bar facing you. Press the release tab on the battery and pull the battery out of the battery bay. Press the yellow tabs in the center of the Roomba and remove the brush holder. Pull the brushes out of their sockets.
- 3). Remove the four screws holding the front sensor bar cover in place. The screws run along the edge of the sensor bar cover. Once the screws are removed, lift the sensor bar cover up and unplug the wire from the sensor bar cover. Set the cover aside.
- 4). Remove the eight screws holding the top cover in place from the bottom of the Roomba. There are two screws on either side of the battery bay, two more by the brush sockets and two more in the back corners. The final two screws are located in the bottom of the wheel wells. Lift the top cover up and unplug the cable running from the cover to the motherboard. Set the top cover aside.
- 5). Unplug the cables running from the front sensor bar to the motherboard. Unplug the motor cables from the other side of the motherboard.
- 6). Remove the four screws holding the front sensor bar and motherboard in place. Two of the screws are located in the center of the sensor bar while the other two are located to either side of the motherboard.
- 7). Press the arms of the sensor bar toward the center of the Roomba and unhook them from their sockets. Pull the sensor bar away from the Roomba and set it aside.
- 8). Lift the motherboard up and out of its socket. Disconnect any remaining cables from the motherboard.
- 9). Reverse the previous steps to reassemble your Roomba.
