How to Clean Vinyl Flooring
- 1). Sweep the floor well (or vacuum it) to remove all visible particles.
- 2). Fill a mop bucket with a solution of mild detergent (like Murphy's Oil Soap) and warm water, in the concentration specified on the bottle. Using a well-wrung out mop, clean the floor thoroughly with this solution.
- 3). Allow the floor to air-dry or, for a real shine, dry by hand with a soft towel. Murphy's Oil Soap is great because it both cleans and shines the floor.
- 4). If your floor has stubborn stains or is really grimy, use a strong cleaner such as Clorox Clean-Up Cleaner with Bleach. Caution: wear old clothes when you do this, as it WILL bleach whatever it touches! Just spray the cleaner on your floor and wait one to two minutes. Then wipe with a damp sponge or scrub with a brush on a really dirty floor. Be sure to rinse the area thoroughly to get rid of any residual bleach. Hand-dry the floor or allow to air-dry.
