How to Remove Crazy Glue From a Surface
- 1). Blot up as much of the crazy glue as you can when you first spill it using a paper towel. Do this immediately on any surface that the glue landed on. It is important that you don't rub, just blot. Rubbing will only spread the crazy glue so it is harder to get up.
- 2). Pour acetone on a clean paper towel and test it on any wood or fabric surface before you use it. It can discolor certain fabrics. It should be fine on glass and metal surfaces.
- 3). Set the acetone soaked paper towel over the crazy glue and let it sit until the crazy glue becomes softened. Then wipe up the crazy glue with a clean dry paper towel.
- 4). Use a utility knife to carefully scrape up the crazy glue from surfaces that cannot withstand the acetone. According to Countertop Specialty, you can set your blade to low and scrape parallel to the surface. This gives you more control so you don't scratch the surface.
- 5). Hold an ice cube over the crazy glue on any fabric surfaces you may have dropped the glue on. Wait for the crazy glue to harden all the way. If you couldn't scrape the crazy glue off with the utility knife before, you will be able to now.
