See Maui

• Drive the never-straight road to Hana. Outside one car window, see vine-covered rock stretching straight up. On the other side of the car, the road falls away, spreading into a treetop view overlooking a turquoise ocean. The drive winds around the edge of Maui with ample niches to pull over and gaze at a breathtaking stretch of beach or marvel at beautiful waterfalls. While in Hana, go to the botanical gardens. Maui has many lovely gardens with amazing tropical flowers. And the eucalyptus trees with multicolored bark look almost magical. And drive up to Haleakala National Park to see the volcano.
  
  

Have Fun

• Maui offers a wide variety of activities. Tour the island by horseback, on bike or helicopter. Go parasailing, snorkeling, or scuba diving. Ride the sugar cane dinner train between Lahaina and Ka'anapali. Go hiking or kayaking. Try jet skiing or windsurfing. Paragliding is also available. And chartered boats take passengers to a dolphin encounter.

• After a busy day, take time to enjoy a luau. Enjoy a traditional feast with Kalua pig and sit back for a fabulous show of Hawaiian dance and music. Check the local hotel restaurants to see who is offering a luau and when. Or take advantage of your hotel's spa accommodations and have a massage, or sit in a whirlpool or sauna.
