Blanca Nieves Laundry Detergent - Product Review
Blanca Nieves Liquid Laundry Detergent and its powdered formula are manufactured by Fábrica de Jabón la Corona, a Mexican company.
Blanca Nieves translates from Spanish to English as Snow White. It is phosphate-free and comes in a 33.81 fl. oz. bottle. It is safe for all washable fabrics and is recommended for use on delicate clothes. Listed ingredients are:
- Water
- Anionic tensoactives (surfactants)
- Perfume
- Water hardness removers
- Optical Brighteners
- Dye
Blanca Nieves is recommended for hand-washing, pre-soaking and for use in the washer. As the package logo of a little angel surrounded by soap bubbles suggests, it does produce a significant amount of suds. I would not recommend it for use in a high-efficiency (he) washer where too much sudsing action can destroy the machine.
It can be found in Latin groceries and stores and online. Unfortunately, there is no recycle symbol indicating the type of plastic in the bottle.
The liquid formula is much more user-friendly than the powdered version. I gave it a try when hand-washing some blouses. While it recommends using two capfuls of detergent, I only used one and had plenty of suds and cleaning action. I did use it in the washer and it worked well in removing normal soil but some older stains remained.
