Baltimore's Inner Harbor is one of the city's prime attractions. The harbor is the city's cultural, historical and entertainment center. It hosts a number of world-class museums, a large professional athletics complex, a historical shipyard and a number of nightlife, shopping and dining opportunities. - One example of the Inner Harbor's unique museum culture is the American Visionary Arts Museum, containing alternative displays with a thematic focus on social movements instead of artistic sub-genres. Other important museums nearby include Sports Legends at Camden Yards, the Baltimore Museum of Industry, the Jewish Museum of Maryland, a Civil War Museum, Geppi's Entertainment Museum and the Port Discovery Children's Museum.
- Located immediately nearby is the Camden Yards Sports Complex, which hosts Major League Baseball's Baltimore Orioles and the National Football League's Baltimore Ravens. In addition, the complex is also home to the birthplace of baseball legend Babe Ruth, and a historical museum constructed in his honor.
- The Baltimore Convention Center is one of the city's largest structures, totaling over a million square feet in size. The Inner Harbor also features the Pier 6 Concert Pavilion and 1st Marine Arena, where a bevy of large-scale live shows are performed.
- The Inner Harbor is a key component to Baltimore's nightlife and dining culture, highlighted by the Power Plant Live! conglomeration of bars, clubs and restaurants. Some of the highlights of the section are restaurant row, which includes a Ruth Chris Steak House and Two Boots Italian cuisine, and Angel's Rock Bar, a second-story rock-and-roll club. Several of the bars and clubs, particularly Rams Head Live! feature some of the area's best musicians in live performances.
- The National Aquarium of Baltimore is also immediately on the bay, featuring ecological and bio-marine exhibits from the local area and the entire world around. It is widely considered one of the world's most comprehensive aquariums, and is the most visited tourist attraction in the entire state of Maryland.
- The shipyard in Baltimore is perhaps most noted for the USS Constellation, the only remaining Civil War battleship still afloat. The Baltimore Maritime Museum is also here, hosting three restored vessels and a lighthouse.
