How to Replace Glass Stove Tops
- 1). Unplug the stove. Unscrew the screws holding the glass stove top in place with either a Phillips or a flat-head screwdriver, depending on the type of screws used.
- 2). Lift the glass stove top from the stove. If rear brackets secure the stove top in place, lift the front of the glass and bring the top forward to remove from the brackets. Lay the old stove top onto a safe area where it will not drop and break.
- 3). Place the new glass stove top over the stove. Lift the front of the stove top to allow the back to slide down into the brackets. Lower the front of the stove top slowly to the surface. Replace the screws into the screw holes, and tighten down with the screwdriver.
- 4). Clean the stove top with a cleaner made for glass stove tops and a clean cloth. Replug the stove and test the burners.
