  Join Captain Tris Colket of Last Mango Charters for dolphin, wahoo, cobia, kingfish, barracuda and marlin fishing. Hutchinson Island and surrounding areas are known for their abundance of deep sea fish as well as heavy lobster breeding areas in reefs during the months of August and March.
  
  If the deep blue sea is not your cup of tea, St. Lucie County welcomes you to fish on one of the many piers or jetties that are found in the Hutchinson Island environs.

  The beaches of St. Lucie County are spread over 21 miles, perfect for families or couples that are seeking a variety of recreational activities. Visitors relax on North or South Hutchinson Island Beach, known for ideal surfing and kite-surfing conditions. The area's waters are clear, which promotes scuba diving and swimming.

Hiking

  Hiking trails can be found throughout Hutchinson Island. Some of the trails run through salt marshes, shorelines and deep woodlands. The D.J. Wilcox Preserve, the Indrio Scrub Preserve and Kings Island Preserve are among the many trails that can be found in the area (co.st-lucie.fl.us/beaches). These trails encompass over three miles of hiking trails and offer nature observation decks, picnic trails and sites of historical interest.
  
  Hikers can participate in a variety of ecotourism activities and keep an eye out for birds, turtles and manatees. Many of the hiking trails start in nearby Fort Pierce and meander through areas of Hutchinson Island.
