How to Clean Cast Iron Items
- 1). Remove debris from your cast iron with a wooden or rubber utensil.
- 2). Dampen a sponge and squeeze a small drop of a mild dish soap onto it.
- 3). Wash the cast iron object with the dish soap under warm, running water.
- 4). Scrub stubborn food from cast iron cookware with a plastic dish scrubber or a paste made from mixing baking soda and water.
- 5). Rinse away soapy residue with warm water.
- 6). Dry the cast iron immediately with an absorbent, dry towel before putting the cast iron item away.
