How to Clean a Concrete Machine

13
    • 1). Put on safety gear, including safety goggles and gloves, before attempting to clean the machine.

    • 2). Turn the machine's switch to "On." If you can't find the mixer's switch, look at the directions or call the manufacturer.

    • 3). Pour a couple of gallons of water in the mixer. Have several buckets of water on hand for cleaning.

    • 4). Hit the side of the drum with moderate effort using a rubber mallet while the machine is on. Avoid making any dents to the outside of the drum. Large pieces of cement should fall from the sides of the mixer.

    • 5). Dump the water out of the mixer. Chisel any remaining chunks off the sides. Use some of the water in the buckets to wet the concrete and chisel.

    • 6). Mix one part hydrochloric acid with two parts water in a bucket. Pour the acid into the water, rather than the water into the acid. Add the acid mixture to the concrete machine. Tilt the mixer so that the acid mixture covers the sides of the machine.

    • 7). Pour the acid and the concrete chunks out into a bucket. Rinse the mixer with a power washer.

    • 8). Clean the mixer as soon as you are finished with your project. Use a power washer and brush.
