Lasting for three days, festival goers have the chance to interact with hundreds of authors at book signings and appearances. Admission for all events is free. Live readings take place on eight stages throughout the day and guests can attend cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs; poetry workshops, walking tours and listen to storytellers. Live music and street theater are also features. This kid-friendly event features special activities and projects for young ones. Food, beer and wine is available from festival vendors.

This show is the largest in Maryland and the largest summer antiques event in the country. It runs during the beginning of September each year. Over 200,000 items are up for sale including furniture, lighting fixtures, artwork, kitchenware, quilts, rugs and jewelry. Admission is charged for entry. The show takes place at the Baltimore Convention Center.

The city is home to the major league team of the Baltimore Orioles. Many home games are hosted throughout the month, so head out to the ball park for a night of this American tradition. If you have children, take advantage of kids night, at every Thursday home game. Kids 10 and under get a free ticket when accompanied by an adult. Games are played at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in downtown Baltimore.
